Criminalising (wild) Camping

Post by mercalia »

The Government is currently consulting on whether to make ‘intentional trespass’ a criminal offence – but because of vague wording, we are concerned that this could be interpreted to include wild camping. Cycling UK’s national off-road advisor Kieran Foster explains what’s going on, and what it means for cycle touring and bikepacking.

And before anyone wastes too much time on it, the consultation closed a few weeks ago.

Once this hell us over I'd like to see anyone trying to stop me.
I won"t be worrying, manifesto or whatever.
But i promise to leave no trace, bury my deposits and soiled manifesto.

Good on yer.
It's the same the whole world over
It's the poor what gets the blame
It's the rich what gets the pleasure
Isn't it a blooming shame?

The Government's consultation was only about the legislation in England and Wales.
