Anyone got any recommendations for a non-down (she's veggie) 3 season sleeping bag that's packs up relatively small?

Very pleased with our North Face synthetics. But the range has changed.

I don't think any 3 season synthetic will pack down particularly small - that's still the domain of down bags. Can't give any specific recommendations I'm afraid as mine is over 20 years old and some obscure make (long boring story). I've looked the specs of modern ones and they don't seem to pack down any smaller than what I already have.

Don't forget there is such a thing as ethical down...

If you are concerned with the packed size of the sleeping bag you could always look at a 2 season bag and a liner

I imagine you probably have been told that down is a no, but if not do check as I know plenty of veggies who use down bags (I was a veggie for 12 years and never had any qualms about it). Veggie quite different to vegan.

I have one - it's very nice though must admit that I haven't slept out in it yet - see my other thread on New Forest for hint on its first planned outing.

I got mine at a significant discount from Snugpak's base - it was a second though the fault doesn't compromise function.


Maybe other folks can offer more testing appraisals of it.
