Off topic but the lifetime warranty on some items can actually mean lifetime.

A mate has an ancient Karrimor rucksack that came with their gold lifetime warranty. It's a decent rucksack, light even by today's standards not bad at all. The trouble is every time he rips or damages it he returns it with a copy of the receipt and label hoping they just cut their losses and give him money for something new. Sure enough 2 weeks later he was gets the old rucksack back. All stitched, washed and to a high standard. It has to be 30+ years old now and just won't die because of the warranty.

Anyway back on topic now.

am surprised the warrenty is honoured as Karrimor not Karrimor now?

My adapted Vango Adventure tarp ( meant to be a front porch for a conventional tent
with my home made poles - some old Force 10 I cut down to the size I wanted

just pegged to the ground and 2 V ropes at each end

Tried it this week end close to home using just an Alpkit bivvy bag with the whole Ex Army softies jacket and trousers and a small Alpkit Elephants Foot bag. Temperatures at night were about 11-12C Was fine.

1200 GRMS that include the poles, tarp, cables , skewers ( 8 light weight alloy ) and the 3 bags - one for the poles, one for skewers one for the whole lot.

with thinner poles could probably cut the pole weight a lot, but these force 10 ones the ones I had.

much lighter than my nicer Vaude Mk3 tent at 3.5 Kg or so.

was pleased with how the Army softie jacket/trousers performed. doubt I will ever again use a sleeping bag which I am too big for ( I have a really big one but too heavy ) The small down elephants foot that dont weigh much kept my lower legs and feet warm.

Hi,
I gave up sleeping under a duvet when I bought my cheap one metre wide £9.99 bag several years ago, even her in doors has one, in the summer its over the top in the winter its in the bag.
This is at home in bed, even so you can but one metre wide bags of different weights which should fit the bill of any larger body?
More efficient than parts made to do a bags job?
