I'm pretty sure I was on the pitch next to you. There was two of us. Me in a Terra Nova and my mate in the Vango.
We then bumped into you a few times on the road over the next couple of days?

Hi,
45 years ago on the Pennine Way.
My tent is a Campari two man with a simple flysheet, I'm not sure what the other one is?
I'm in blue trying to cook something, looks like I'm trying to shelter the cooker from the wind, Looking again it looks like we have plastic bags over our rucksacks I'm just peeking in.

Ah yes, how did you get on? I think the last time I saw you was at Foyers on my last day before Inverness.Jumbosausage wrote:I'm pretty sure I was on the pitch next to you. There was two of us. Me in a Terra Nova and my mate in the Vango.

Ha ha, it’s actually really good. Once you’ve mastered it, it’s up very quickly and I had a couple of very comfortable nights sleep. I’ve seam sealed it since I wrote my mini review, though it hasn’t rained yet since! This looks very tempting! To someone with an addiction this is so desirable. Please tell me it is rubbish .....

Here's the tent at a campsite below Bulbarrow hill. Earlier in the day, I had stopped at the top of Bulbarrow hill and watched a paraglider glide silently past.

Somewhere on here I think I saw a remark about man made fabrics not lasting. Here's a couple that have.
First up, a Saunders Fellpine, bought from the man himself early 70s when I couldn't afford the Jetpacker. Same style, cheaper heavier fabric, the weight reduced to 2kg by making all the dimensions 6" smaller so very cosy. But it did 40 nights a year in all weathers for a long time, and was used as a pup tent by the children. Now using Jetpacker Plus and Hille Anjan when I want a light tent. Second, Trio Sekinek, bought 1977 direct from Denmark after the Blacks ridge tent failed spectacularly. Easter 1978 it was the only flexi poled tent on the NT Gt Langdale site. August 1979 I had to replace a door zip after camping on the cliffs near St Davids. It was the week when a huge storm hit the Fastnet Race. Monday morning most other tents were piled by the bins. 4kg, spacious bombproof 2 person tent with loads of storage. Still totally sound, here pictured in Derbyshire last week. Can't justify replacing it.

First rain in a month and it's heavy. So I got out into the kids TP tent in the garden to listen to the rain.
Just heard a thunder clap ! Not so sure of myself now.

I am here. Where are you?

lol, my son has an old Coleman 3 man cleverly used to make a cover over the garden sofa which he sleeps on most nights at the moment.
