BTW, I stayed at the Crask last year and during dinner they were butchering deer on the kitchen table with a hacksaw....

A Good Companion?

Nah, it's the end of a Phoenix Phortress. Old but not that old :D My first camping was in a Good Companion during a school outdoor activity week. That's partly what got me into hopping, skipping and jumping outdoors (and cycling or course). All my cycle tent pics are on sites and a bit errr, dull. :(

Definitely not when cycling, but here's our main car-camping tent in the Cairngorms:

When cycle camping we use a Hilleberg Nallo 2 GT but I don't have a handy photo of it.

This is my bike visiting Occupy Leeds yesterday http://www.occupyleeds.co.uk/ This photo doesn't really do justice to the enormousness of the info tent.

Yet again I wish I knew how to make a cycle powered generator - the cycling would help keep us all warm!

Mrs bike4two keeping warm(er) in our Hilleberg Nallo 3GT (top picture) enroute LeJog April 2010 - a very roomy tent at 3.1Kg

We used to have a Vango Spirit 200+ (bottom picture): not a bad tent and good value, but the Nallo 3GT pitched better (edges much tighter to the ground) and was much roomier and at the same weight.

I wonder where Lidl got their inspiration for my £15 tent.

This is my tent at Cracoe on the Way of the Roses in June 2011. And No! the guy in hte background is not taking a leak against his windbreaker. Unfortunately the bike is laid on the grass so not such a good shot of that.

On Coast and Castles 2009. Still like the old (and tired) Vango Micro, the Akto is certainly not £200 better

Setting up for Helmsley and the North Yorks coast trip 2010. The Vango Micro 3(?) is also old and tired with a porous groundsheet but has 2 good storage areas. The Coleman Exponent2 is comfy, vents well but is now for sale.

First a cheap Argos 2 man teepee tent in Okehampton on my first ever mini cycle tour.

Secondly the legendary Argos Tiger Paws (£15) wild camping (actually very peaceful camping) on the Southern edge of Exmoor.

And a closer view to show full glory of the Tiger Paws and my cheap Lidl panniers.

And a final one on a campsite in mid Devon.
