Have you considered modifying the inner by replacing the end panels with mesh? A seasoned backpacker who runs vg backpacking reckons it makes a big difference.

is it possible to swim there? I mean, without ending up frozen? Looks good!
It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best,
since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them.
Thus you remember them as they actually are...

That orange tent of yours mercalia reminds me of tents we went in in the scouts.

Considering that I kipped in a Force 10 in about 1980, the plus is quite a big plus.
Googling tells me that Vango took over Touring Sport Ltd in "the early 1970s".

well I bought mine new in about 1999 from a large camping store in Rochester, cost me then £120 I think, probably a final forgotton batch in Vangos warehouse stored some where that the shop had got hold of cheap, if what you say is right then maybe it was then 20 years old  I remember visiting the store many time and poking around inside their demo before I bought it: In the end it became a sort of lust I had to have one  Says a lot that a tent that is maybe 40 years old is still in good nick and works as good as new. Any one here have a plastic tent they can say that of? Using it is as snug as a bug in a rug :D Its a shame that Vango didnt adopt the inner walls feature of the Conquest that made it such a nice tent to use with so much space, not just at the ridge pole

Pack size and weight?
Otherwise, is comparing the nutrition of a bag of oranges against two apples :)

IIRC, Vango was producing Force 10's before Conquest began production. They were made in Gosport in Hampshire and were made by the same company which had Safari Outdoors shop in Portsmouth. I looked at getting one in around '77, but saved up an extra £10 to get an Ultimate Super Packer (£75!)
Did Vango buy Conquest? I know someone who has the original Conquest patterns, and would like to get hold of them one day.

I bought a Vango Force 10 Mk3 in around 1978. (Edit. It was earlier maybe 1973!)
I always thought it was made in Scotland (note careful use of noun!).
Heavy but well made. Boy was I fit!
It withstood a mighty storm that sunk N.Sea trawlers while on an exposed stubble field on Orkney.
And other memorable stuff.

I always liked the orange for living in, it was always summery sunshine in there.
Lousy for secret wild camping though.
