May help a discussion with other people regarding some features/likes-dislikes/pitching options/etc.?
Forums are about discussion and exchange of ideas, not just "showing off" :D
It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best,
since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them.
Thus you remember them as they actually are...

Is that a full size pannier on the front?

I own one too! I've never seen another out on the road (or Power Lizard for that matter), always get admiring glances from other campers when the Vaude's go up in double quick time!
Convention? what's that then?

Here's another one! My pitch at Château Bertangles a couple of weeks ago.Tent looking a bit saggy as it was wet. Love the Vaude Taurus, this is my second.

Nope it's just a pair of sport packers. I think the angle makes them look bigger than they are. They are pretty full though, but not very heavy I keep my sleeping bag, clothes etc. in them.

Sorry not sure what you mean. The bike was certainly there for a while.

Either this is ironic or you've not been to the Small Isles...

I've only been to Sky and Harris but I still wouldn't leave my bike unattended anywhere.Does theft not occur in Scotland?

Of course theft occurs in Scotland, but Scotland is not homogeneous. If you nicked a bike on the Small Isles, where would you take it? Well, there's the ferry, and, errrrr, that's it...

I've toured a lot on the Scottish Islands and on most of them I've not bothered taking a lock. It's one of the many nice things about being in that part of the world. On many islands I suspect it is more likely that your bike will be blown away than stolen. :-)

I always lock my bike even on remoter small islands following a conversation with the cycle hire guy on Barra several years ago. Bikes he hired out were regularly "appropriated" by the local yoofs as a handy way to get home at closing time. While he wasn't bothered because in 99 from 100 instances he knew exactly where the hire bike would have been left for him to recover, it clearly worried, not to mention inconvenienced, his customers.
Of course, the prospect of some drunken stranger deciding it would be a good idea to wobble off into the night on your expensive touring bike and later dumping it by the roadside(or worse, in the local loch) is a different matter altogether.........
The hire guy's advice was to use a light basic lock, which was usually sufficient to confuse & deter the inebriated offenders, many of whom didn't expect such complications. ('Strewth! Round my neck of the woods 2 Gold rated U locks offer no guarantee.)
