Tent peg mallet?
Re: Tent peg mallet?
I hunt around for a suitable rock.
Re: Tent peg mallet?
I don’t bother. I carry around enough stuff without adding to the load. I mostly stay in places you can just push the pegs into the ground though and my tent is freestanding.

Pegisu mallet - cheap, light and remarkably good at supplying a bit of help.
Convention? what's that then?

Same as this (although 5 years late)
Someone asked how it bashed. I think its more down to the quality and design of tent pegs.
Re: Tent peg mallet?
There are occasions when you want the additional security that a big tent peg gives.
We carry these:
One on each corner of the fly sheet has been fine for most adverse conditions we have met, but you can carry more
The fact that they screw in saves the mallet and they are as secure, if not more so than a large peg
As little as £1 each from the usual culprits
