slipping off the airbed

Post by barbelfisher »

I had a lot of trouble staying on my self inflating airbed last year when camping, constantly waking up and repositioning the sleeping bag. I tried these nonslip mats underneath but to no avail.... any ideas please?

Kind regards

Make sure it's a flat pitch and try letting a bit of air out.

You could try a cheap cotton rectangle sleeping bag liner and put the mat in it. I don't know if this would work with yours, but with an inflatable mat (Exped Synmat in my case) it works wonders, stops the mat slipping on the groundsheet, stops me slipping on the mat and added bonus stops the squeaking.

Wrap a towel (or shirt or whatever) around the mat at around trunk level. It has to go around the mat so your weight anchors it in place against the ground, otherwise it'll just slide with you.

let some air out - you don't need too much air in a sleep mat.
Convention? what's that then?

Another vote for letting some air out.
