I'm obviously not important enough to have even been informed of it. Not the right sort for them!?

Waste of money and there's nothing close enough to be worth the effort. Pass!!

A few in the above thread, there were others published in Cycle at the time, more in the Annual Report 2014/15 p17-19 (pdf pages 19-21).

There's a lot of info to take in there. I've ploughed through some of it and become further dissatisfied with how CUK throw figures around.

Stated in the Annual Report there is a total of 45 affiliate groups formed or joined in Scotland. If I then do a search on the website http://www.cyclinguk.org/local-groups? for all affiliate groups within 200mls of Inverness it comes up with 7groups.

As for using a DfT webTAG kit to claim a six fold benefit from the pound who can argue with that. I'm sure it would baffle anyone.

Presumably it didn't baffle the DfT who provided the funding and may have required the use of that model to demonstrate the benefit. He who paid the piper must have liked the tune because it was funded in England again this year and Scotland wanted some too.

I should hope it didn't baffle the DfT as its their tool.

I always respect your ability to search and find. Have you found those 38 missing affiliated groups in Scotland yet?

Search for AG's within 200 miles of Inverness returns 80+ AGs: http://www.cyclinguk.org/local-groups?f ... 5D=IV1+1AX

Search for AG's within 100 miles of Glasgow returns 70+ AGs:

Code: Select all

http://www.cyclinguk.org/local-groups?page=3&field_group_type_value_many_to_one=AG&title=&circle_op=%3C&circle[value]=100&circle[min]=&circle[max]=&circle[unit]=miles&circle[location]=g64%202rh
(can't make that one work as an url).

I'm not checking when they all signed up  .

    Thanks
    Well done :D

I realise my mistake. I assumed I'd need to tick all the activity options to get all the groups. Seems it's best not to choose any options.

At least there is no mention of summer in that article.

Reporting on the award of £450,000 from the Scottish Government for BBR in the latest edition of Cycle, PT reports the feedback from officials (following the name change) was simple, "We never really understood what you were all about, but we do now"
It does bring into question the campaigning efforts of CTC/CUK in recent years :( .

It would also be quite interesting to ask the officials what they think it's for now and whether it matches what members want.
