CUK has previously junked branding and even a name that had a lot of time, effort and money spent on it, hasn't it?

The same rectangular logo appears on the organisers own website and the pages for their Tour of Ayrshire. No mention of Cycling UK in list of sponsors/supporters.

Trademark infringement?

I hope that this is not unacceptable to above posters ?

It's going to depend on the outcome.

If the rectangular logo turns out to be evidence of a connection betweed Cycling UK and the company that must not be named then forum rules would allow them to post a link to their events on the relevant board.

If no such connection exists then the forum rules allow you to dump the whole thread without any consultation.

To avoid posting links, a Google search on "We are Cycling" answers the questions above.

So are there We Are Cycling FR, We Are Cycling NL, etc, under the global brand ?

First appeared online December 2015 - CTC's trademark filing was 16 February 2016. Who's infringed whose trademark?

Is there a link or links? To save looking it up, has the CTC registered both "Cycling UK" and "We are cycling?"

All CTC trademarks: https://trademarks.ipo.gov.uk/ipo-tmown ... 0003150027

I have no knowledge of trademark legislation from which to make any informed comment.

Have to agree. Entry for wearecycling.com with the oblong logo (featuring .com rather than uk) on waybackmachine for Dec 2015.

I think that more or less concludes that the logo is not an endorsement from we are cycling UK the cyclists' champion.

I've no interest in a re-enactment of the re-branding debate.

Me neither but did anyone spot this already-launched similar brand during it? If it's news, I'll go summarise in a new topic so the mods can feed this one to the goat or rip its guts out or whatever as far as I'm concerned.

Brands similar to Cycling UK were spotted and commented on, including the one under discussion, which had slipped my mind.

The other CTC website has also been rebranded. Whatever name you choose someone else will be using something similar.

Unleash the goat!
