The one that interests me is British Cycling providing facilities to clubs to collect membership subscriptions. BC and my club are different organisations, but I now get BC mailings. I don't believe that my consent has ever been requested for my data to be shared between them. What's more, consent isn't valid if a service depends on it, so, if I can't renew without agreeing to sharing, that would probably not be valid consent anyway.
OK it's only BC, which is not exactly the worst organisation to have my data, but I've never been sure that it was legal.
