Covid-19 : Rule of Six reinstated - September 2020

Post by sel.dixon »

CUK has just reverted to six riders maximum.on a group ride in line with the new "Rule of Six" law.effective 14 sept. Apparantly CUK have decided not to apply for a 30 person exemption to the law which is available to all recreational and sporting clubs. So now in my groupride
of six i will be meeting groups of 30 ramblers and watching 30 people doing grassroots football training. How does this support local grassroots cycling?

If you maintain a safe distance from the Ramblers and Footballers it will reduce the risk of your group of six coming into contact with Covid 19, thereby ensuring your grass roots cyclists can continue riding, rather than becoming ill, or needing to self isolate.

We (as in my local club) are finding riding in groups of 6 works very well for us and general feeling is that we don't want to return to groups of 20-30 riders for Club rides.
