Cycle mag
Re: Cycle mag
I've opted out of receiving it.
Most of mine went in the bin unread.
Purely academic now, as I won't be renewing my membership next year.

Have others noted the irony in the Letter of the Month award in the October magazine? The author of the "Smell the flowers" letter being given a piece of technology that would be ideal for the sort of cyclists he derides!

You can read some (not all) of the magazine articles here when it's published:-

p.s I wonder what 'optional horizontal orientation' is (mentioned as one of the features of this issue's letter prize) ?

@colin54
Thanks very much
..
Sorry to read the suggestion that one should wave at considerate drivers. The gesture could be misinterpreted as a challenge or threat

It works when you are riding a recumbent?

Excellent advice, regardless of other technology in use.

So what is the verdict on the content of the latest magazine? I have skimmed through the online copy and it seems that Dan Joyce has acknowledged the complaints along the lines "There is nothing in there that is of interest to me, so it goes straight into the recycling bin".
There is more for grumpy old men on touring bikes with reviews on two touring bikes, an article on grease (but unfortuneately with insufficient detail for afficionados), a story about a pre-war tour of the Alps and to cap it all Richard Hallett gives the thumbs up to a Carradice long flap saddle bag. What more could we ask for!?

So long as you use more than two fingers when you wave, I think it'll be okay.

Pedant alert: just received the Feb/March 2021 mag. Slightly concerned that they can’t even spell pedalling correctly....or is it me? Headline article on “keep peddling”.....is that not to sell illicit goods....
