Well, one of the supposed benefits on which the vote was sold has come home to roost now, with the withdrawal of Gift Aid for membership fees, which are the lion's share of unrestricted income.

The point was strongly made, at the time of the vote, that CTC cannot be both a charity and a member-focused organisation at the same time. The charity rules do not allow this.

Essentially, members are paying more for less.

I'm a trustee of a professional membership society which is a Charitable Incorporated Organisation.

We'd choose the same structure if we were deciding now.

For varying levels of "member-focused", of course.
