Two possibilities spring to mind:
1. They are badly paid and quickly move on to better paid jobs.
2. CUK's management can't think of better things or posts to spend money on so they have lots of media officers.

Well a job title doesn't tell me anything about their workload. Nor does it tell me about their working hours. Why should anyone assume they all work full time?

Perhaps it's not enough  .

Reminds me of the "Framley Examiner" situations vacant:

Hi,
What does the CEO of a charity get paid?
I mean they job hop every 18 months don't they!
It's a charity it's a business it's a charity it's a business.
This is how it works in big business.
Many firms give job titles but the increase in rate is a pittance.

Thanks for that, it is definitely more entertaining than Cycle Magazine or any of the other charity magazines that I have seen.

A glimpse into the modern world of charities, where presentation is so important.

Following Bonefish blues above post.
Thank you for this.
It does give us some idea of where some of the money goes!

I. Badly paid??--- from 2020/2021 treasurers report numbers/wage bill cost average salary at "The Kremlin" is £37k /pa. all, doubtless, with "public
Sector" pension, sickness with full pay etc conditions.
Surely Media Officers are 10 a penny-are we not awash with all those dedicated "A levellers" being directed to a "gateway" degree.
2. CUK's current management realises it needs all the propaganda it can generate to justify their continued destruction of what once was "our"
cycling club.

And incidentally all the work on this forum is performed ( happily ) by unpaid volunteers.

Despite the surfeit of media and communications officers not one has bothered to reply to my e-mail asking CUK's opinion on the closure of the Humber Bridge to cyclists and pedestrians. The e-mail was sent on the 5th April 2021 at 15:36. I did however get the statutory automated reply indicating that I would receive an answer within 48 hours. I have since seen the letter written to the HBB generated by CUK that has been promulgated via this forum (and other sources). Nevertheless a reply to a paid up member would have been at the very least courteous but obviously the members are now a secondary consideration. So bang goes another salary provider.

I should try sending the mail again, maybe in a slightly modified form. Maybe they get so many messages, one could get overlooked by accident
