Have a look at the ToB stages - they're all north and west. How are us east anglians supposed to manage? :D

Pay higher council tax, then you council will be able to buy into the event.

I've been to western England. Their streets are awash with coppers, you hardly dare drop a bit of litter before its swept up, the roads are like billiard tables... They can afford it. We get crumbs in Essex

Probably very true. I looked at the difference and was amazed.
West Lancs
1059 - 3178

Essex
753 - 2260

Wish they would spend some of that on our local lanes.
Regarding the ToB stages - it may be that the areas used are quieter so that there is less impingement on traffic.

Yes I'm amazed too. Where do poor but not officially poor people (you know, people with a bit of a pension but no more) get 3k£ for council tax?

Might even cycle down around Tatton Park to watch it on Tuesday, or to the KoM climb a bit further away but would need the time and weather to get home afterwards.

Driving east on the A66 today was like standing on the roadside of a tour.
Cavalcade of all the team cars buses and workshop trucks along with the police cars and outriders. Saw Sky, Orica GE, Trek, BMC, Lotto soudal, and Wanti.
Why were they all within minutes of each other on the road? Will they have all come off the same ferry or what other reason?

I would imagine there could be enough vehicles to make the charter of a whole ferry worthwhile, and probably easier than trying to book on "public" ferry services too.
