Suppose that this room is a lift. The support breaks and down we go with ever-increasing velocity.

Shocked ,,, no gods, no heroes in my life but Sherwen, Kelly and Roche where the ones that i followed in the cycling press in the 80's and have passed just enough inspiration for me to keep on racing ...
Such a shock .... Good night Paul, won't see you in the morning, remember, the road goes on forever ........ :( :(

I posted earlier about the sad demise of Paul but my message (and one other) has been removed.
Can the mods please explain their reasoning for doing so :?:

Maybe we're not allowed to mention there has been doping in races any more?

I read a biography of someone who was a sort of moderator. It described how he would delete entries and change them, so that what had originally been written either vanished and never existed in the first place, or its meaning was completely changed. Like whoever deleted the posts on this thread, the chap did not think that he was doing anything wrong. His name was Winston Smith.

I realise that you might think that's a ridiculous comparison and hyperbole, but it's not. You just haven't thought through the full implications of what you have done.

It is indeed sad news ...

Phil, Paul and Channel 4 were my introduction to the TdF in the 1980’s and whilst the mainstream broadcasters eventually moved onto Ned and David, his voice (with Phil’s) will always have a place in my heart as a reminder of my early youth and my initiation into the mysteries and traditions of cycle racing.

Yes, very sad news. Those 30-minute C4 TdF highlights were brilliant and I liked his pairing with Phil Liggett.

Yes, the Speakwrite, we have always been at war with Oceania :?
I saw that a second thread about PS had been started, were they not simply merged/combined? What if anything was deleted?

Reference to the doping allegations and his time working with Lance.

Let's see if this post stays...
