Team Sky is now Team INEOS

Now we have something / quite-a-lot to discuss and celebrate.

yes, but they don't do drafting.... Kipchoge's time was impossible without his wind shield.

I believe TTs on busy dual carriageways are popular for fast times.

Most popular of all is the R25/3H in the Neath Valley which has very low traffic flows (for a dual-carriageway) but has a big downhill section - very scary in a sidewind when on tri-bars and using a disk rear wheel. British Comp Record has been broken several times on this course in the past few years.

No, the uphill bit is to get from the HQ to the start. My son rode the National Junior 25 Champs on the R25/3. He beat his previous 25 PB by 7 minutes.

That must have been a one-off, perhaps for the National 25, as the usual HQ's are at Rhigos RFC and Hirwaun Village Hall - both are at the top.

Thinking about it, I organised the National 10 in 2002 and the National 25 in 2005 and on both occasions we used the Glynneath Leisure Centre at the bottom of the old Neath Bank road - I think because we felt that it was a more fitting HQ for a National. That long steep hill is actually used for an Open hill climb event.

Yes, Glyneath LC rings a bell. It would have been the 2005 Nationals. My lad finished 5th, I think. He did a 56 and his previous PB was a 1.03. Alex Dowsett won.

It has become obvious since his accident and Bernal stepping up that Froome's days at Ineos were numbered.Brailsford can be ruthless. It would be nice to think Ineos give him a chance to get the 5th TDF before he goes but DB won't get sentimental and if Bernal is looking stronger then he'll go for the Yellow with him.
Froome can still hold his head up as one of the greatest GT riders regardless.Had it not been for bad luck/injuries he would probably have been a 6 or 7 times TDF winner now. That's all ifs and buts. His record speaks for itself as it is.

I thought that this had been resurrected to note that Team Ineos is being renamed to advertise the Ineos resurrection of the Land Rover Defender AKA Grenadier.
