I watched them live very exciting.
Did they show on TV the rider walking in carrying his chainrings? How on earth did that happen.

Watched last night, brief coverage of the TT but much better for the crit. Didn't catch anyone carrying chainrings.

The finish line looked dodgy from the off at the exit of a narrow cobbled and tight left right bend. The woman's race ended with a contested 2nd place with the runner-up hitting the outside crash barrier about 1m past the finish line and 3rd place falling over her. Probably looked worse than it was as both appeared ok on the podium.

Are there rules for the finish line on races? Priorities should be a duty of care from the organisers for safety and having a finish so riders can sprint to the line. Not sure why it was put where it was, there seemed to be plenty of wider and straighter parts of the course.

Hi,
Just finished watching the women's crit race.
From lap one it was a one-horse race.
Behind nearly a Full lap of the pace a battle for second place which seem to be from the very start of the race.
Plenty of people being laped and sitting up cruising.

I'm not sure why some of them even bothered turning up?

That crash happened about 10 ft in front of me. It wasn't the s bend that was to blame, it was the lighting. There were floodlights on the left hand side of the finish quite close to the finish arch and British Cycling presentation/commentary van. The combination of the arch and van meant there was quite a sharp transition from light to dark as you crossed the finish line. The second place person got themselves too far to the left and their left pedal caught on the plastic sign fastened to the railing. 2cm to the right and she would have been fine.
