Tour of Britain 2012

Post by BeeKeeper »

Is it just me or is the website www.tourofbritain.co.uk just slow and unresponsive? I have tried to download maps of the route as I think the tour comes near me in Devon at some point but the site seems a bit reluctant to communicate.

I cannot believe it's the Brad factor. Anybody know of a website that has the maps on properly with elevations?
Website is by somebody called 'positive'.

I can't get on their website either. Connects to the site but never actually loads anything.

BTW The latest Cycling Plus has a Tour of Britain supplement with reasonable maps & elevations. And, according to an ad on the back page, Skoda are doing free coffee and cakes near the top of several KOM tops (Shap Cannock Chase, Caerphilly Mountain & Coffin Stone Dartmoor) for folk who go up to support.

Seems to be working fine today - obviously the site does not like Sundays.

15th September the race comes within one street of where I live in Kingsbridge so I guess I have no excuse not to watch it. The impressive thing, having looked at the expected times of arrival is the riders are going to reach places in the same time it takes me to get there in my car! Having the road cleared of tourists and tractors etc probably helps but it is still impressive.
