ITV4 showing live in the afternoon except Sunday. Highlights Sunday evening for Sundays opening stage.
You'll never know if you don't try it.

Hi,
Two years a go I tried to cycle across the course as it went over Dartmoor, I was on my MTB with semi road tyres.
I managed two locations to see the peleton pass ( if you have never had a roadside view of a peleton of 100 + riders snaking past and over some small dips in road at full pace with those new bikes and all that lean mean pose , even I was impressed :D )
I tried for three but missed by a few minutes the second pass.
I raced to the third pass nose on the bars uphill only to see flashing lights and thought I have missed them again but no I was five minutes early :D
The TV as on the TOB has crap camera work with NO roadside camera's :( Does'nt catch the real spectacle for me and the commentry is sheer pants.

So last year I plumed for a pedestrian roadside view on dartmeet hill, Cofinstone and a real one on the hill too, heaving all over the place with spectators.
The course comes through my training ground on two counts and I am considering a quick 7 mile and 1300' blast to see two passes again , the real course is 25 m 2500' , will I manage it before they close the course :P ........................... :? ................ :)

Looking at the stages, it's not really a tour of Britain.
All they do is do little routes in bits and pieces.

I'd like to see them race properly from one end of the country to the other.
LEJOG for instance over some difficult terrain. 1,500miles without transport would sort the men out from the boys.

Today's stage is going past my house, 150 metres from the finish. It's a hill called Beast Banks, and it is indeed a short, sharp, beast of a climb. Kendal is already buzzing, and I was on top of the leader board for the 500m roller sprint until two young whippersnappers stole my thunder.

Don't be daft, get to a stage finish and enjoy the fun!

Hi,
Yes that 25% :o their first gear was barely low enough, the commentator is overly ecstatic every time a cyclist put there foot down :? When a rider went into the back of pack at bottle neck, oh the roads are slippy........not.
Then they missed the Movistar rider lose his gear train whilst giving support to Quintana :?:
The weather is picking up later in the week too.

They were crawling up at less than walking speed, I guess bravado prevented them from going faster by getting off and running up..idiots

Do you think that you could run up such a steep hill with so many miles already in your legs in the wet, and with big slippery cleats on your shoes?

Hi,
All they had to do is swap the bottom cassette cog with one with two more teeth.
They would'nt of missed that gear on the rest of the ride.

Some of them did almost come to a stop on Honister. A case of gears too high again. I saw a pic of Wiggins who appeared to be running 39/28

I am staying away from the plywood thumping one kilometre media circus ring
I'd rather stand on the road on my own in a puddle of Dartmoor peat porridge :(
I see the road is closed up to haytor to traffic early, but walkers and cyclist are permitted.
Change of plan - cycle up Haytor from home :)
Gander at the bungee acrobatics on BMX's :)
Whip down Haytor (that'l be hazadous with all those pedestrians) normally a + 45mph death run :(
Tootle over to Chudleigh to see the men come thru :)
Tootle back to Bovey Tracy and do Haytor climb a second time :(
Stop on road or when the Black Leather Clad Police motorcycle riders wave their hand at me or is that a fist (had both) :?
Tootle back over the moors to home.
Anyone up for it :?:

Wiggo the only man to go sub-20 today, storming through 10 mile TT in 19 minutes 54 seconds.
