The new logo?
The new logo?
Well look what I just found - a new trademark application from Cyclists' Touring Club Ltd, submitted yesterday:

The new logo!
Good find!
I like the colour version. It seems to lose something in translation to black and white, can't be helped.

Now there's a cargo bike! (Is it?)
Perhaps to carry all of CTC's baggage around. At the moment there's a lot. [emoji6]

This one: http://www.ukcycling.co.uk/ insider knowledge or (un)fortunate coincidence .
If someone mistypes a web address, they mistype a web address, not a lot that can be done about it really.
Rather drifting off topic though.

You have to be joking! That's dreadful. As well as lacking in any sort of class, it also will not scale well at all with the strap line too small relative to the largest font.
Re: The new logo?
So it's going to be "Cycling UK". How bland, how predictable. It sounds just like all the other charities which have recently gotten into trouble for being dishonest swines. Lets not have the CTC go down that road.

Please don't abbreviate it to CUK. That's the abbreviation often used for Co-operatives UK, which was formed from merging the Co-operative Union - representing retail co-ops - and the Industrial Common Ownership Movement - worker and producer co-ops - if I remember the history correctly. I do wonder if people will wonder who CTC has merged with to provoke abandoning its historic name.

And if you head off to Southern Africa the work 'Cuk'* meanshttp://forum.ctc.org.uk/viewtopic.php?f=15&t=10801 as in telling lies or simply viewtopic.php?f=15&t=10801. With so many well travelled folk on here I hope that abbreviation doesn't stick [emoji6]
*(spelt differently and as I can't swear on here it's up to you to google the right spelling)

Re: The new logo?
What about CLUK (like what chickens do).
So at a competitive event, supporters can all cal out "Cluk, cluk, cluk".

I remember many years ago when I worked for a significant (international) retail electronics manufacturer, there was a product which had a development name everybody assumed would be carried through to be the product name. That was until a French girl working for the company pointed out that in French the name meant "little prick". A different name was adopted for the release product.
