I think most of the people they are targetting haven't a clue who CTC is and what it does.

And if you were re-designing (as is happening at the moment) the Kings Cross gyratory in London would you expect something called the Cyclist Touring Club to have much of relevance to say about the needs of commuting cyclists?

Another logo no doubt many here think is wrong - wrong fonts, too many sizes and came out of a cornflake packet - and for which they would have done a much better job.

My suggestion for the new logo having done lots of market research by reading the CTC forum (sorry no time to mock it up properly)

Gothic font with silhouette of an Ordinary. Text says:

Ordinary Touring Club: Keeping cycling as it used to be.

I think (although I have a vested interest) that you're a tad harsh about Macmillan - you need to look at the brand across everything Macmillan does and you'll see that it's strong, instantly recognisable, cohesive, consistent - getting the message to cancer patients, the care sector and fundraisers.

Whilst I have said that the cyclingUK logo looks cheap the mind boggles at how it'll be used across the range of communication materials etc - probably the "plonk the logo on somewhere" (pioneered by Sustrans and its "partners")

.. good idea on your logo suggestion - this should give you a basis to work on:

I still can understand who we might be confusing Macmillan Cancer Support with. Unlike UK Cycling which seems instantly confusing.

The new logo?

How many posters are we going to see defaced like this. Think the joke will wear very thin.

Got it. The font is FF Std Cocon Bold, if anyone's interested. Yours for only £39, should you wish to deface the logo more convincingly. :-)
It's been used in the past by the National Lottery and Durex.

Are you suggesting that Council should have organised the rebrand as a members' colouring competition to see what we could have come up with?

Cycling For All might not be too happy with you using that! (And they've already got a logo.).

I don't think it was "should have" ... it was undoubtedly "did organise" ...... it all looks like the stuff our 6 year old grandson sticks on the fridge door :)
