Another issue is this. The money and power and influence of the CTC is based on it's members. So they are all going to have to rebrand too. It isn't just a dictat that can be sent from the top

So how was that done the previous times the CTC rebranded. This is not the first time the organisation has gone through a rebranding and changed its logos etc. Its worked in the past, so why do you think its going to be a problem now?

Formation as Bicycle Touring Club (shield), 1883 (CTC - winged wheel?), 2009 (national cyclists' organisation) and 2012 (national cycling charity) - any others?

Also, I think "worked in the past" is debatable. I suspect there are still many more winged-wheels around than later ones, outside of CTC-sanctioned documents.

1878: Founded as Bicycle Touring Club
1883: Rebranded Cyclists' Touring Club
1886: Traditional logo usurped by that ghastly Winged Wheel.
1906: Members voted to rebrand as The Touring Club and to amend the constitution to let in all tourists. High Court rejects application and we get stuck with focusing on those pesky cyclists.
1998: Rebranding, the current squiggly bicycle thing appears together with "CTC", "Working for Cycling", "CTC Right to Ride" and "CTC Helpline".
2012: Following a vote by the members, the Cyclists Touring Club becomes a registered Charity, "the national cycling charity" adopted as a strapline.
2013: Rebranding process announced. You did all contact your Councillor and let them know your opinions, didn't you?
2014: Council approves in principle to a change in trading name with "National Cycling Association" the hot favourite.
2016: Rebranding process announced to be complete "We are Cycling UK", "Cycling UK". Poll of the Whole Club anticipated as the rebrand has come as a complete shock .

It's nice to know some things haven't changed. Search for CTC Councillor East England → http://www.ctc.org.uk/about-ctc/ctc-nat ... /jim-brown → no contact details. I could probably use the info on that page to track him down to his local group but it's not easy to contact most CTC councillors, is it?

But I guess most remaining CTC members don't care much whether they can contact their councillors because they've not replaced them with ones who are more contactable, while at least one councillor who was easy to contact through this forum and other social media lost his seat.

Plus there is always a list of councillors contact details sent out with every 2 months with each edition of Cycle (either inside the mag or on the address label sheet - more often the latter these days). Hardly keeping them hidden!
