Don't mention the CUK
Don't mention the CUK
According to the branding materials we should always refer to CyclingUK and never use the acronym CUK. I bring this up because many forumites appear to be terribly off-message and using the forbidden acronym. Maybe this could be another use for the forum's auto-substitution facility?
Re: Don't mention the CUK
Or maybe auto-substitute WACU to £#!@ ?

Seriously? If they think people are going to avoid an acronym, they're simply wrong.

I think whoever wrote the branding materials is a little naive. I'm no longer a CTC member so I can use CUK. If I was a member I would still use CUK.
Why? Because I hate being told what to do. ( I see now why I was expelled from school) [emoji1]

Don't mention CUK!
I mentioned it once, but I think I got away with it.

There is probably good reason for them to try and prevent CUK being used http://www.urbandictionary.com/define.php?term=cuk (which includes some bad language). I doubt they will succeed though.

Glad somebody got the reference
Ian, yes I did see that. A (suspiciously well-informed) friend informs me that it is also a popular shortened form of 'cuckold' used by people on the internet who have a particular interest in such things
It's safe to assume that none of these was an intended meaning of "We Are CUK"

Lucky that we live in the United Kingdom and not the United New Territories .

Imagine the outrage at Council if a Member Group should decide to reconnect with it's heritage whilst embracing the new brand.

Fortunately my local MG is already displaying the Cycling UK logo on its website.

I think all those that use the CTC's own allocated website eg. http://www.cyclinguk.org/local-groups/b ... strict-ctc have been changed automatically in line with the national website.

Re: Don't mention the CUK
I'm sure you're right, but I was looking at my local MG's own website. Frankly I was more than a little surprised.

At the risk of turning this into a pantomime, oh yes they are.
