POLL OF THE WHOLE CLUB PLEASE TAKE PART YOUR VOTE IS IMPORTANT

Post by Velocio »

The latest 'Cycle' Magazine arrived on my doormat earlier today ...as I was about to throw away the A4 sheet with my address on it ...I noticed that it was 2 pages instead of the usual single sheet ...and inside was the...

POLL OF THE WHOLE CLUB - PLEASE TAKE PART - YOUR VOTE IS IMPORTANT

...to either accept or reject the new Cycle UK branding ...sneaky...!!!

Anyways ...I have duly and dutifully voted ...'to rescind (overturn) Council's resolution to rebrand' via the online voting option

:)

Indeed. If someone hadn't pointed this out I would have binned the innocuous-looking bit of paper and missed the vote.

Shame they didn't do it while I was still a member.
Should I join again they've just sent me an email saying I can sign up for gift aid. They'll be £8+ better off. Shame I don't pay tax. [emoji6]

I have tried the online voting and have got nowhere. I put in the www.ersvotes.com/cyclingukpoll as instructed and it just doesn't work for me.
Maybe it's not up and running yet. Has anyone else had an issue with it?

It worked for me and (in the spirit of enquiry) trying to use the same code twice returns a message that I have already voted.

Just about to return the papers by post, but thought I would give it one more go, well two more really as there are two of us in this house,
and it worked.
Waiting with interest now to know the results.

Thank y'all for telling me about this, I had no idea.

I have just rescued the piece of paper from the paper-recycling pile and voted online.

I too am seriously unhappy with this strange camouflaged distribution of ballot papers: one wonders if the organisation can get anything right ?

Maybe that is why there is a big(ish) blue blob on the front of the address label containing the wording
IMPORTANT!
do not throw this
sheet away - see
overleaf and page 10 of the
magazine

Not exactly that camouflaged :)

Ditto on all points.

The mag arrives.
I open the plastic bag and empty the contents onto the floor.
All the bits go onto the hearth with the logs for burning without being looked at.
The mag goes onto the coffee table for (perhaps) looking at, but not necessarily ever being looked at.
Later, the mag goes onto the hearth for burning.

This scenario is repeated every time the mag arrives.

PS

I will vote, and I'll be voting to revert to CTC and to get rid of the stupid CUK name.
National Cycling Organisation would have been a better name.

I'm unsure which side you think this favours? Seems to me if anything that it'll favour the disinterested, who don't visit the forum, or FB groups or read the mag, and it's this group that some say are most likely to support the council.

Those were my thoughts PH. It was in council's interest to get as many people to vote in the charity conversion as it seemed that most were so disinterested that they were happy to let council take a lead (or <dons tin hat> most might have actually supported the change)...would have thought similar here.
