On new years eve at work I tore my medial and lateral meniscus On my left knee (still painful & swollen ). I am waiting on my first appointment with the phisio. Is there any exercises I could be doing to help?
Would using the turbo help or hinder?

Sounds like quite a party!
I would say avoid weight-bearing exercise on a swollen knee.....I tore my cartilage exercising on a swollen knee.
AFAIK torn cartilage has to be "tidied up" by arthroscopic surgery, mine was. Brilliant fix.
Straight-leg isometric quads. exercises** will give you some chance of retaining a bit of strength.....muscles are "inhibited" in case of injury, and vastus medialis is particularly prone to wastage.
If you go on the trainer, just use it to retain knee mobility, not strength or fitness, I would say.
**eg. sit on the floor, with your knee locked straight, raise your heel off the floor and "write" the alphabet in the air with your big toe. (start gently!)

Thanks for the reply.
Wish it had been a party, I crouched down to mop up a spillage and as I got up I felt my knee go.

Looks like I will be off the bike for a while getting this sorted.
