Torn supraspinatus muscle

Post by 661-Pete »

Yes - I had to look it up too! It's somewhere in the shoulder, part of what's called the rotator cuff, and it hurts at night and also when I raise my arm above a certain height. Been bothering me for almost a year now.

Doesn't really affect the little cycling I do - luckily. My main concerns are that it makes other activities - especially DIY painting and decorating - rather difficult for me.

I've been to the doctor and also an osteopath - the latter for the first time in ten years. Osteo identified the problem, and said the main treatments are 'management' (which sounds ominous and long-term and no cure) followed by steroid injections (GP) then surgery (hospital). He's done some manipulation and dry needle work (though he denies being an acupuncturist!), but no improvement thus far.

I know this is a fairly common complaint, so I'd be interested to learn how any other sufferers have fared.
Suppose that this room is a lift. The support breaks and down we go with ever-increasing velocity.
Let us pass the time by performing physical experiments...
