Age 69, COPD at border of moderate/severe ("lung age" 92), so 14 seconds quite pleasing! Cycling at least 10 miles or walking 4 miles on average of 6 days out of every 7 over the year must pay dividends.

Set the timeer clicker thingy to click once every 2 seconds. Got my daughter to time me and kept going for 60 minutes. Wonder what that means.

I'm fitter now than I was in my 20s, thanks to sports and healthy eating.

I did 9.5 secs (aged 66). My wife (62) did 8.8. But we spend a lot of time exercising each week (about 14 hours). I doubt it is reliable as a fitness indicator. I would have thought being shorter with muscular legs (like me) would give you an advantage. I have exercised for 50 years, with very few problems. Lucky, I guess. :) Diet makes a big difference, and keeping off the juice.

Spot on!

I did 80miles on Thursday and Friday last week. I'll be out tomorrow for a 30odd mile ride.
I'm pushing 66 now. I know that many other 66 yearolds can cycle distances, but there's not that many of us if you take the population as a whole.

I would say that if I did 100 miles per week, I'd be happy. Trouble is, life gets in the way and I have other things to do other than cycling.

I do almost 100 miles a week on 3 local hilly rides. If I can, I do a Sunday club run which can vary between 65 to 100 miles. But I don't always get out as weather and family duties get in the way. If not a bike day I'm in the gym throwing a few weights about. I also try to get a few 3 mile jogs in when I can or a swim. The last doc I saw, when I was moaning about my knee, said "most people of your age are not as active as you". I don't think I do enough! I still can't get rid of my belly. It's very loyal. It just won't leave me. I'm 70 next Saturday.
