Bottom of voting screen is "see results". I've not voted as I haven't done it yet.
There's no such thing as a tailwind.
It's either a headwind, or you're going well.

Although males have an advantage through hormones, women are smaller and thus power to weight might well overtake males of similar age, you would have to compare same age and same level of excess weight.
I maybe be wrong in my assumption's?

What about old slim men? 186cm, 69K, did ten in ten seconds with moderate effort, aged 60.

Hi,
Only 19 sports men and women have voted, hardly a good representation.
I thought I would try again, backs been stiff all day, I am resisting taking any pain meds, over 310 watts for an hour on the turbo last night but still managed 30 in 34 seconds, best is about 10 in 10, 2nd attempt.

You feel it after 50 and at 55 was definitely loss in strength in my muscles.
Any even part time cyclist will have an advantage because of the muscle groups cycling exercises.

P.S. david7591, I think we all wish we could do that at 69 I am only 59 :)

Saw the lady doc this morning.
Chest sound, lungs sound, oxygen levels good. (thank goodness!)
It seems I have bad Sinusitis and it'll last 5 to 7 weeks or more, so I could be only half way through. Meanwhile, lots of fluids, and buy a nasal spray from a pharmacist, no other treatment available but this dry weather will help.

She said I should be fine cycling, but I replied that I'm finding it too difficult.

Hi,
Getting old.... :)
I am not sixty yet but every year feels harder, especially after illness / falling off :(
Keep your nose clear, modern spray seems very effective for nasal congestion.

I did it in under 10s without feeling I was putting in much of an effort, and am female and just in the 55 demographic, but as I'm not all that fit I suspect it's just because I'm small and it must be easier for small people. Either that, or I must have been doing it wrong, though I follwed the instructions AFAIK.
Whey-hey, I have found the second thing in life that's easier for small people.
The first one was assembling the bolts on a four poster bed from underneath (don't ask) which isn't a skill you often have much use for.

Oddly enough, someone was telling me how difficult the 'plank' was. I asked them to explain it, and then tried it. I found it quite easy. Both they and I were surprised. They then said 'okay, do it with one arm, that'll get you'. Still found it easy. But I know I'm not strong in the arms when it comes to lifting things, or lifting myself on bars, so again, I think I've just got a physical build that makes it easy. Like touching your toes is supposed to show how supple you are, but I have long arms and short legs, so I can easily touch my toes though I'm actually very stiff, and not supple at all.
All exercise test are a bit iffy if you are an outlier in build, I think, as is BMI.

Feeling better-ish these past few days.
Out into the wood this morning logging up a cut ash tree.
Fifteen or twenty minutes was enough. Out of breath and knackered.

Just found this. Managed 12 ish seconds. However, it was indoors as that wind is a bit fresh. Haven't been on the bike(s) for a few weeks.
