The Sleep Book might help if you are still experiencing problems (you can find it on Amazon). If your long ride is on a Sunday and the next day is a work day of course, it may simply be the usual reason - ie many people have their worst night's sleep the night before the start of the working week.

This is a good thread, I also have trouble sleeping after riding . I managed 58 miles yesterday, which was about 15 miles longer than my longest this year. While I could cat nap anytime from the finish of the ride to bed time, when it came to actually going to bed, I just cat napped, sleeping on and off all night. It is not so much twitchy legs, but legs that slightly ache instead of fully relax.
The only answers I have found to this is to increase mileage or time on the bike gradually, but this does not help in the midst of a near sleepless night .
