Fallen metatarsals
I have a poorly foot (broken leg, dislocated ankle, and damage to the ball of the foot after another injury). The main problem when cycling is two fallen metatarsals. If I am putting pressure on the ball of the foot with the foot at the angle for ankling, I get pain in the foot and the foot also goes numb. This happens on my upright bike and recumbent. Any suggestions as to how to alleviate this would be welcome. The other foot is happy!

Hi Claire.
Don't know how relevant it is, but you can read about my episode of collapsed arches here...https://forum.cyclinguk.org/viewtopic.php?f=1&t=90412&hilit=+arches
The video of the exercises has moved to here....https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0wapDaltjNs
I suspect there are plenty of people who would make you "custom" orthotics, too.....otherwise known as insoles with arch support.

Re: Fallen metatarsals
Hmm... I had metatarlgia for months. The best thing for it was just plenty of rest... no cycling at all. Metatarsal pads helped also to stop my metatarsals from getting redamaged and helped break me out of the injury cycle that is the case for so many foot injuires.
