Back pain mystery

Three years ago I was attempting the Tourist raid in the Pyrenees.
I had a slow speed fall at some road works - just a couple of scratches I thought.
Subsequently I found riding uphill created a pain in my back at the left in the rib area. The pain would increase until I had to stop - the pain eased and I carried on until I had to stop again. My progress was so slow that I had to abandon my attempt and take a lower route - obviously some climbing and still slow progress. The worst day was getting over the Col de Jau which took several hours of riding, walking and just standing.
The next day the pain had pretty well gone and I only had some flat riding.
I had no problems thereafter.
This year I was riding from Narbonne to Dieppe. Quite hilly - on the third day the pain in my back returned and I had several days of discomfort - I took high dose Ibuprofen to no avail. My lowest gear is 26 chainwheel 36 sprocket so I didn't have a problem turning the pedals.
Now I'm back home I have no pain even climbing.
I can only think there must be some effect caused by riding uphill with a loaded bike - ( I had no problem at all riding the Danube cycle path )
I've not experienced this prior to the fall - so I'm mystified.

If I were you, I would go and see a physiotherapist who specialises in sporting injuries. When I had pain in my lower back, I went to see one and he gave me some simple stretching exercises to do and these soon sorted out the problem. May be your problem will be as simple to cure....hopefully!

Thanks for the suggestion - I've had the same advice from another person who has recommended a sports therapist that he uses.

That's the point. I did another thing like x-ray to ensure there any scratch or something like.
