Excellent classic old school joke from Mr Peacock. We need more of that.

Apart from reading the posts I must say that Ian Peacocks 224mls in 12 hours for over 60's is excellent and inspiring to realise perhaps we don't have to lose huge performance ability over time. Though I realise many may be starting from a high level from their earlier years. I read that some people do get faster with age simply as they train to fully use what they perhaps weren't using when younger. So it lifts my mood to when I see achievements like Ian's that there may be still a good number of cycling years ahead to aim for personal goals.

On the other hand, Conotrane may well be better than Sudocream.

On the other hand, if it's not as good as Sudocrem, Graham will be uncomfortable for 15 years, until he finishes the tub and can go back to the real thing.

Found this stuff in the USA. Zinc based. Worked. Mainly bought for the name though!

Bought my big tub from Lidl's. Cheap as chips.
Second tub in ten years, and this one is a big 'un.

I've been using Conotrane for donkeys and can thoroughly recommend it,a tube to take on tour and a big(£6)tub for in the bathroom

Would a cheaper, nonproprietary version of Sudocrem not be called Psuedocrem?

Bit of a concern that reohn2 is suggesting conotrane for donkeys, i'd have thought it advisable only to reccomend creams for human use. Perhaps a vet can advise.

No,I think you'll find that that is the expensive non proprietary version

My ex wife is a dispenser in a chemist. She knows all the ingredients of creams etc.
On her recommendation I have been using conotrane over sudacream for years because
A) it's a lot lot cheaper
B) does exactly the same as sudacream
C) a lot of the midwives/health visitors from her pharmacy use it from a tube because of hygienic reasons.
That you are not sticking dirty fingers in a pot and contaminationg it which I hadn't thought about until explained
to me.

Well the itchy area, to which I applied it, is currently itch-less.

Either the active ingredients are still working or the colonies of bugs in the pot are having a beneficial effect.
