CBD oil

Postby ianrobo » 1 Feb 2019, 1:33am

For a while I had been looking at this to try and help with my depression. I got the oil from a source used it and within two weeks with no help from my GP I got off 50mg of citrlapram daily ...

It also helps my riding as recovery does feel better but fully aware of wanting it to work is a placebo in itself !

Now this is legal in the UK but at lower levels and the stuff I use is let’s say at an higher concentration.

Anyone else have tried it and your views ?

For me and the other thickets, what is CBD?
Convention? what's that then?

Cannabis extract the legal one and THC is the other extract - the illegal substance

Thx, I thought it might be but didn't want to assume.

I've been really interested in giving it a try on a routine basis to see if I notice a difference. I'd likely steer towards CBD from hemp vs cannabis just to avoid any chance of THC.

I've been taking a 6.4mg CBD oil capsule daily since Christmas and I've noticed two immediate differences:
    1. Less aches and pains in general and definitely better post-ride.
    2. I seem to sleep much better - as a 30yr insomniac I still have a relatively short nights sleep at 4hrs but it's better quality sleep according to my sleep monitor.

I'm assuming you mean Hemp?

The answer is yes.

I have been using Botanycl CBD oil and it helps me with post ride aches and aids in muscle recovery but also helps me feel generally calmer in mood. I buy it on Amazon and its the best one I've tried so far. Its called Botanycl Hemp Oil Extract on Amazon as I understand Amazon have certain wording which must be used on the label, but it is CBD oil.

As a side note to anybody else reading this - you shouldn't have been taking 50mg of Citalapram. The maximum recommended dose was cut from 60mg to 40mg about five or six years ago and your GP should not have been prescribing more than that.

I'm one of "the forgotten" who have been pushed onto Citalapram and forgotten about. I've been on it for 13 years. I tried the cold turkey method (yeah, I know) of getting off it a couple of years ago but the side-effects were.... unpleasant.

I've heard mixed reports about CBD oil. Some people say it works wonders, while others say it doesn't do a thing. My problem with trying it (legally), is that it's bloody expensive.

I heard in a broadcast that the concentration of the CBD oils that have been analyzed is very different depending on the purchased product. That also may explain some of the differences between persons.

I'm keen to try this as I have very poor sleep pattern, mainly due to lower back injury. I too am sceptical as its touted as a miracle cure for everything from cancer to depression. Indeed when it was illegal, I heard a dose was selling for £600 locally, available from what I thought quite a disreputable source. Now that it's been legalised I've would hope that QC on products would be regulated, but I guess that doesn't really apply to products sourced online.

Any good recommendations appreciated.

I was on 50 ... cut back to zero using CBD and felt ok for a while but noticed familiar signs now on 30mg, CBD and let’s say an illegal fag or two ... feel fine and no negative effects ...

I had a knee replaced two years ago. Joint is fine but soft tissue won't work as it should. Doc isn't interested because I can ride 60/70/80 miles on the bike. But it hurts me. Strong discomfort. I have prescription painkillers which I take when it gets too bad but thought I'd try some CBD oil.

Got some 30 strength drops. Three under the tongue and a difference was felt after 20 minutes. I used it for 3 days and was virtually pain free.

Don't use it every day but I do use it rather than taking pills. Seems to work for me.
