I have always suffered from saddle soreness. So much so that on multi day tours I have always carried a spare saddle to try to alter the pressure point. On one 10 day tour I even had to stop at a bike shop and buy a third saddle to curb the pain.
But when my new bike arrived I was so keen to ride it that I didnt notice this....
The nose of the saddle is misaligned and points slightly to the right!
With the saddle positioned like this saddle soreness has completely vanished? Its actually counter intuitive, I cannot really understand it because the soreness is inside my right thigh? I am going to try to same thing on my other bikes and see if its the same. Might be a remedy for other sufferers to experiment with.

I have read that few of us are symmetrical. This could be the problem for you. A hip injury left the neck of my femur shortened and I ride on leather saddles which, after suitable pounding from my bum, assume a markedly asymmetric shape. Have you tried leather?

I have a Brooks Professional on my Mercian, and I once tried a B17. Same problems with both, but I will try angling saddles on all my 3 other bikes to see if it makes a difference.

One of the good things about Brooks (and similar) leather saddles is that they gradually conform to you own shape. And I have found that my shape is not symmetrical. An imaginary line between my sit bones would not be perfectly 90 degrees to the top tube of the bike. So the indentations that form in the leather are not quite symmetrical.
If you have legs of different lengths (e.g. my own, 11 mm difference), pointing the saddle slightly to the shorter ride helps. This, combined with a supple leather saddle, means that my posterior floats as on a feather pillow.
