Dear community
In 2014 I was on the pedals when I felt the worst pain ever, after an MRI scan the results came back as showing a ganglion cyst
in my left knee above/between the tibia joint area. After 2 separate steroid injections to reduce the cyst I then had a 3rd injection guided under X-ray in the operating theatre,
which only gave temporary relief.
The initial surgeon who carried out these injections did advise at the beginning about the dangers of operating but said he could do it to remove the cyst, after much deliberation
I decided against operation due to the dangers of drop foot etc, the pain didn't go away.
Towards the end of 2017, I got my GP to refer me to see Professor Haddad at UCL who is one of the best in the UK, upon seeing his register they said the cyst was too small to see
and couldn't understand why I should be getting pain, so they suggested I have another injection but this time under ultrasound, after that injection I was kind of pain-free for a while and then the same old pain returned.
I have just had another MRI and will be returning later this month to see what next.
I am in pain on a daily basis, too much sitting, too much standing, walking basically a constant pain which is making my life miserable.
Has anybody had the same experience or know anybody that has come out the other end after arthroscopic surgery with less or no pain?
The reason I mention surgery and am looking to push for it is the constant pain, I have read a lot in detail about cyst's & how they can grow back but how
some operations can be successful.
Has anybody had experience with a specialist surgeon who can do this?
Yes, I agree professor Haddad is one of the best in this field but some surgeons will not operate & some will.
This pain will not subside, yes I have tried Physio, massage, hot & cold pads, acupuncture & even prayer.
I really have to search for answers as I cannot cycle anymore since 2014 and am desperate to become free of this pain.
Any advice is greatly appreciated, thank you for your time, peace love & light x
