I’d forgotten I’d had mine yesterday until reading this.

Had my jab on Saturday.
Practice Nurse "We're giving a shingles jab today as well"
Me "I've already had shingles "
Practice nurse "doesn't matter you can catch it again". Administers injection "oh, and you might get a rash" :(
Sunday morning I feel as if I have a cold and muscles ache - that seems the usual reaction to the flu jab - no chance I'd forgotten - no rash :)
Went for a short ride - a slow 15 miles. Did some weights.
Feel OK today.

They usually give the shingles jab on your 70 year. 78-80 for those who missed it.
And last year they also gave me a pneumonia jab in addition to the flu jab.

When I was a kid I had chicken pox twice. I just read that the virus can remain dormant in nerve endings for years and re-emerge as shingles when you get on a bit and your immune system declines.

Just had mine.
I was feeling a bit tired anyway, and now I'm feeling a bit crap.
My left arm was aching and I thought "Grrr...flu jab" then I remembered I had it in my right arm.
Right arm now aching a little.
Then again it could just be the weather.

Surely the main side effect of the flu jab is a greater resistance to Flu ...?

Very good friend of ours - she's in her 70s now - once said to me, "Old age is not for wimps!"

Well I'm 78 so that may be why - had the pneumonia jab last year ( wasn't that once referred to as "the old person's friend - in that one shuffled off without undue suffering ? )

I had pneumonia on my 50th birthday.
Had the "one off" pneumonia jab after a course of strong antibiotics and steroids. Then the flu jab.

My antibiotics and steroids for this chest infection are coming to an end this evening.
Feeling ok now, but still not right. Doc says to go back if I don't improve, but it could take a couple of weeks.

Not just that.
I've had asthma since my late 30s but no issues until my early 40s.
It made life difficult in the RN and was part of the reason I retired.
Much of my asthma is stress related but as I've aged it's just plain asthma.

Colds often go to my chest and develop into bronchitis etc. Quite depilating really.

I'm not sure that isn't what you meant, but in your case AIUI, it may be quite appropriate. 8)

Well, I do have some kind of minor lurg. :(
However correlation is not causation.
I had been out for a couple of coldish dampish rides the two previous days.
I suspect that it is a reaction to the vaccine, though.

Edit: Friday now and it seems to have more or less cleared, although I am still tired and sleeping during the day. Jab was on Monday.
