Tomorrow I go for a CT scan to see if the cancer that yesterday I didn't know I had has spread.

Puts some of the conversations on forum into a correct context OJ (in terms of what's really important, that is). Every best wish for the outcome.

From a screening test?

Remember to write down all of the questions you want to ask so that you don't forget anything.

Have they told you all of the virus protection procedures for the visit?

I hope it turns out OK.

Thanks. I am now self isolating. My pre-op assessment is 10/09 and surgery on 24/09.

I had what appeared to be a tiny lesion which turns out to be large.

Hope it turns out well. But don't forget to question those .....at the NHS, particularly if it's Northumbria Healthcare Foundation Trust. And stay on the bike

Unfortunately, cycling is not a possibility just now.

All the best with this and if you are not already doing so, try to take somebody with you who will be sufficiently calm to take on board everything that is being said. Stress can trash comprehension and memory.

I had an irrational anxiety last time i saw my gp. I didn't realise how common this is and i was tongue tied and couldn't get my concerns raised. Its called iatrophobia.
Next time i will write the questions down if i cant bring someone with me. I am normally not an anxious person so it caught me off guard.
Hope all goes well with your treatment

After twice weekly visits to Newcastle Freeman Hospital I had a Covid test there on Monday and surgery on Thursday. Before the surgery the consultant told me that until he started he didn't know where it would end up. I needed to be prepared for bad news and I might be transferred to Sunderland which is even more specialised.

In the event, he was able to do everything without any external incisions and I only have a few soluble stitches inside. He could not see anything else untoward but obviously I needed to await the biopsy results. It will be about 8 weeks assuming all well before I am on the bike. Meanwhile I remain on the urgent list in the event of something nasty showing up.

Much relieved although I still have some anxiety remaining until the biopsy results.

Only just seeing this -- hope all is well John -- I have many friends who have been through this and came out the other side with no problems. An anxious time but hold onto the handle bars.
