Bath, shower, both, neither? Vote now please!

When I retired and moved home, I made sure the new dwelling had a bath (no separate shower, but one could put up a screen and shower standing in the bath)
For many years I only had a shower at home, that is quicker maybe if one is hurrying to work, might use less water + heating energy

Never have a desire to shower now, I read in the bath, run more hot water to make me sweat, fall half-asleep in the gloaming But I look forward to the novelty of a shower on holiday in 2022

Not so long ago people managed well enough without, or Saturdays a tub was put before the fire, the whole family bathed, kiddies first. A Llanfairfechan farmer reported that he bathed once a year, whether it was necessary or not

Swmbo has a bath before bed every night. I usually leap in after her.
Too much information there.
We get free hot water from excess electric diverted into our immersion tank and get paid for it as well. Unfortunately it's only for 8 months of the year, when we have to put the gas central heating on to supplement it. Bring on the sunshine.

I havnae had a shower for eight months!
I usually have a bath in the morning, about twice a week on average, is that normal?
Perhaps I should add questions about frequency and time of day. Does anyone bath or shower in cold water?

The best bath is maybe after a long cycle ride in winter

That depends very much on the type of shower you have and how long you spend in it. The BiL is very much in love with his power shower and I dread to think how much water + energy that takes to run.
In traditional systems you could take three showers for one bath. Which has to be better for the environment.

Domestic water heating

The biggest use of hot water in a house might be baths, showers, dish-
washing, or clothes-washing – it depends on your lifestyle. Let’s estimate
first the energy used by taking a hot bath.
The volume of bath-water is 50 cm × 15 cm × 150 cm ≈ 110 litre. Say
the temperature of the bath is 50 °C (120 F) and the water coming into the
house is at 10 °C. The heat capacity of water, which measures how much
energy is required to heat it up, is 4200 J per litre per °C. So the energy
required to heat up the water by 40 °C is
4200 J/litre/°C × 110 litre × 40 °C ≈ 18 MJ ≈ 5 kWh.

So taking a bath uses about 5 kWh. For comparison, taking a shower
(30 litres) uses about 1.4 kWh.

Only time I have a bath is with salts after a marathon or similarly distanced run.

Shower every other time.

Anglian Water rate a bath as 79 litre, and shower 30, but electricity for the shower is six times the price of the net gas price for hot water.

I think Anglian water are a bit mean. That’s ten 2 gallon buckets of water. A bit shallow unless you’ve one of those smaller baths you have to keep yours knees up in.

There was a survey report that 90% of the population only shower or bathe once a week despite claiming to do so more often. Oh and they do it wrong too. Don't ask me what they're doing wrong.
