Hi all
I have a Kryptonite Evolution D lock, but the fixture you use to secure it to the bike frame tube is rubbish. Any recommendations please would be gratefully received- I know that Abus do one that might do the trick, but I wonder if there are any other recommendations. A work colleague has one with the Luna name, but I couldn't find the bracket on Google, although found a firm of that name, so I'm guessing they don't do it any more.
Thanks
Frame bracket for D lock?
Re: Frame bracket for D lock?
Can't you just leave the lock at work?

I currently do this, but it does restrict me just to using it for work. I would like to use this lock for other things such as shopping when I visit the big city. The Squire heavy duty reinforced cable lock I use for this looks the part, but in practice wouldn't be too difficult to break through- the Krptonite would be a less tempting target.
Re: Frame bracket for D lock?
You could get a frame bag like this, and put some foam padding inside plus a velcro strap to keep the lock from moving too much
Alternatively, a couple of robust c-clips on two sides (one shackle and the straight bar) plus velcro straps?

It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best,
since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them.
Thus you remember them as they actually are...

I appreciate you have asked about a frame bracket, but if you have a pannier rack, that's somewhere else to consider eg:-

Just bear in mind that you cannot have a pannier fitted at the same time though.
Re: Frame bracket for D lock?
I just bungie my lock crossways on the top of my rack. It is a Tubus Logo, the sort where the panniers hang from lower struts, so the lock doesn't get in the way of taking them on and off. I leave the bungie on the rack permanently so it only takes a moment to slip the lock under it.
Re: Frame bracket for D lock?
Hi all
I got the name wrong of the lock bracket that was on a work colleague's bike. it's actually made by Luma- not Luna- web link is at http://en.luma.es/catalogo/articulo/65-sopmulti but no information on availability in the UK. It actually looks like this:
As you can see- the largest hole accommodates the frame tube, the smaller one is for the D lock and all you do is lock the lock. The work colleague has it from the top tube. On his the screws securing the bigger hole are replaced by allen bolts. He's worked abroad as an EFL teacher so that's where he would have got it from, not in the UK.
Any ideas where I could get this from here would be appreciated!
