Hiya All,
Ok, so the Garmin native Journey planner for bicycles is a bit naff.
Can you advise on Good journey planner websites - for export to the SatNav?
(I've used STRAVA so far. Dosen't seem to tick all the below.)
Items wanted if possible
1. Select "How car busy the route is" filter - eg. BikeHub settings
2. Good bike routing! (No Kamakazi routing if possible.)
3. Round trip generator - Add in POI, and number of miles
4. Export to Garmin Edge Touring. (Not sure if it can take GPX as the raw input file. may havea "TCX" files - the only ones I've tried so far.)
5. Holiday - good routes for holiday areas. EG. Peak district, Lake District, etc etc.)
Hope you can advise
Regards
Martin

Reuse, recycle, thus do your bit to save the planet.... Get stuff at auctions, Dump, Charity Shops, Facebook Marketplace, Ebay, Car Boots. Choose an Old House, and a Banger ..... And cycle as often as you can......

Edge Touring takes .gpx files - transfer by USB to "New files" folder and then switch it on - Garmin converts to its own format and list them as "Courses"
Have to say that for the rest of the questions I use brain/paper maps and Mem Map on the PC - I have yet to find any routing app/software that's any good for bikes . . .

+1 - the best for routing you along quiet and mainly surfaced lanes.

Another +1 for cycle.travel. It will use gravel if much shorter, but usually gets the decision about right and highlights it in green on the map so you can drag to change it if it's unacceptable. The main drawback is needing to save to download and you need to register/login to save.
MJR, mostly pedalling 3-speed roadsters. KL+West Norfolk BUG incl social easy rides http://www.klwnbug.co.uk

You can download tracks without saving or logging in - it's the GPS button in the middle, between PDF and the route profile.
