I've just bought one of these. I'm not happy with the quality of the included map (my village is not shown). I live on the south side of the A428, when switched on it shows the position as about 1/4 mile north of A428.
The advertising says that there are CD's for detailed mapping. WRONG, there are no CD's for the UK, or does anyone know different.
Garmin Etrex Legend
Re:Garmin Etrex Legend
I've now returned it for a full refund.
I shall carry on using paper maps I've printed on the laser printer.

Re:Garmin Etrex Legend
The 1/4 mile error is due to "Selective Availability". Remember that GPS is a military system for the US Forces. They add a variable error to prevent the bad guys from exploiting the real accuracy of the system. Most commonly it is much better than 100m.
The Pentagon also reserves the right to switch it off. It's a Nav Aid, not a life support system, and is no substitute for a map and compass when the chips are down.

Re:Garmin Etrex Legend
the US government turned selective availability off a few years ago. You should be able to get better than 10m now.
