Mudguards for Schwalbe Big Apple 28 x 2.35

Post by 3DAM »

Hello,

Can anybody recommend a mudguard set for Schwalbe Big Apple 60-622 (28" x 2.35") tyres?

I prefer full length mudguards, but any will do that fit.

Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks

I use SKS with my 26 x 2.35 Big Apples. Worth getting a pair of bolt cutters for the stays and spend LOADS of time fitting them. They are big old mudguards so you want them stiff. What bike are you fitting them to?

Thanks for the response.

Which model of SKS do you use? Do you have a link? I looked at their website but couldn't figure out which would be best.

They are being fitted to a Cube Hyde 2017.

Thanks.

I also have the 65mm ones. They work really well as a mudguard and even better as an air brake!

A hot air gun will make almost any plastic ones fit. Water is flung off the crown of the tyre, so the mudguard doesn't need run down the sides or even to span the full width of the tyre for it to be effective.

Yes 65mm round my Big Apples. Nice bike btw. I have a Cube Acid MTB. Just got back from playing the fool in the Mendips. 80km later and there isn't an ache in my body to be felt. Supremely comfortable.
