Super duper cycle storage

I made one that will hold more bikes, and did cost a lot less
Clearly, I don't have a wife or a permanent girlfriend around

It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best,
since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them.
Thus you remember them as they actually are...

Then who is the red bike for?
If I had a baby elephant, I would put it on a recumbent trike so that it would become invisible.

Why yes, did you not know?
You have a woman’s bike! I’ll wager it’s never had sixteen shipwrecked mariners tossing in it.

Pic linked
That's a nice rack (fnargh fnargh) and well done for doing a good job making it but the one in the OP's link holds the bike flat against the ceiling (well, rafter) - using no floor space and leaving enough headroom - something I've never seen before.
Disclaimer: Treat what I say with caution and if possible, wait for someone with more knowledge and experience to contribute.

I suggest you contact the Royal Academy in London and enter it into their yearly Art exhibition as it is clearly work of art? better than cows cut in 2 or dirty beds

True, but £216 for holding ONE bike means that I should spend £2376 to hold all my bikes, or £1080 to hold only those above?
I'd rather have the slight inconvenience of fitting hooks -to hold stem and rear wheel- on the ceiling and use a small stepladder

It does look both good and the home of a single man.
Do the hooks slide? I tempted to make something similar and considered if they did I could get more bikes in the same space - not sure what I'd use, maybe the rail for curtain sided HGVs. I think I'd have to make it lower as well, I don't think I'm capable of lifting one of me bikes that high.

It's a bit of a thread drift, but may give useful tips to some?
FWIW
-it's paramount to check onto "what" are you leaning or holding onto. Some walls, even if they seem solid, will simply not hold more than a few kg
-this system does use gravity, all the weight is properly vertical down, so there is not real need to bolt it on the wall. For belt&braces can be bolted on the ceiling
-all the bikes a fairly light, so it's easy to lift any of them.
-when hooking a bike "front wheel up" it's easier to hold it by the seatstays and front wheel
-when hooking a bike "rear wheel up" I usually hold it by the stem and the seat tube
-the posts are a discontinued item from Ikea, called "Stolmen", actually a storage system for clothes/etc. They can still be found on Ebay/Gumtree
-the crossbar is part of that line, I used two of them for peace of mind. Each timber block hold on both crossbars and is wide enough to prevent a bend in the crossbar
