Yes, I have emailed them.
I hope that they can send it via normal post rather than DPD.

Interesting stuff this electrickery eh?
I was surprised to feel it that strong.
But also, having read it mentioned a few times, kind of accepting it.
It also pleases me to feel such strength of magnetic force in there.

But it does feel like a strong judder doesn't it?
Feels way more than a watt and a half or whatever it is. (in the hand)
Considering a normal hub is half of a watt.

Well, I am excited to try it.

I shall say it one more time :)
It does feel like a very strong resistance in the hand.
(Phew, got that out of my system, thanks)

It feels awful in the hand, it really isn't though.

If you're really unlucky you'll find a speed at which the frequency resonates with some thing on the bike, and that speed will be a bit noisier than others. If you're *really* unlucky that will be a cruising speed :)
A shortcut has to be a challenge, otherwise it would just be the way. No situation is so dire that panic cannot make it worse.
There are two kinds of people in this world: those can extrapolate from incomplete data.

unless it has been done already, it is almost certainly a good idea to adjust the bearings in a new shimano hub dynamo. The correct adjustment is (with the locknuts tight) a little free play that just disappears as the QR is tightened.

The juddering will pretty well disappear when in use, except for (as noted above) the possibility of resonance at one speed. Some folk, with some generators, on some bicycles, are regularly annoyed by this.

cheers

I *think* I can sometimes feel it on my bike... but in addition to needing a particular speed, the bike also has to be tilted slightly to the left. I may investigate further some day, when I've finished all other bike repairs, as it's about that annoying, as in almost not at all

I've recently learned that juddering you feel when you turn the wheel is called cogging.

Well, all fitted and running.
You were right (like you need telling), you just don't notice it at all.
I love it.

The secula plus looks amazing.

Although I got it from Bike-discount.de and it didn't come with the cable as it said it should.
I emailed them on 20th september and am still awaiting a response.
A little frustrating.
Made a cable out of a bit of old two core (slightly disgruntledly).

I have plans for my rear set up in the future, but I need to decide if I am keeping this frame first.

The front (Busch and Muller Lumotec N Plus) I picked up used as a tester. (25 Lumens I think)
Well, it is way better than anything I have had in the past.

It throws a very distinct square of light. Ideal for being seen on lit roads. You can see drains, kerbs etc.
I am very pleased with it as that is all I need right now, it was a good price and it gives me a good frame of reference for future front lights.

I do love the fact that I now have a decent power source with me to go and choose the brightness of the lights, the beam pattern, whether I want to charge stuff up with it etc etc, amazing.

Thanks again everyone for all the input, it was 'illuminating'.
En'lightening' you might say.
I am a dynamo convert for sure. I think it is 'brilliant', I am 'beaming'.
Well, I am tyred of that line of comments now.

Pleased to have cast some light over the subject and didn't keep you in the dark. It did generate some discussion :D
Through the day I have to put my hand over the front light to see if it's on or off. I certainly can't tell by pedalling.
