I stripped the thread in the hole on the actuating arm where the bolt secures the cable. I think it was because the metal clasp that grips the cable forced the bolt to go in aslant.
I don't suppose there's a way of salvaging this, is there? The pivot on the actuating arm doesn't look like it will allow the part to be replaced easily by me or at a bike shop, so I assume the whole caliper will need to be sent to the manufacturer or replaced in its entirety.
I would love someone to tell me otherwise!

Detailed pics would be extremely useful in this case!!!. will
Re: Stripped thread on TRP Hy-Rd caliper actuating arm
slightly longer bolt with a nut to suit, thread bolt thro' and nut and washer, on the back, should work.
Re: Stripped thread on TRP Hy-Rd caliper actuating arm
the arm comes off the caliper quite easily, Just remember to unscrew the tiny grub screws that lock both the hinge pin and the MC pushrod before trying to move them, and use a little threadlock on the grub screws when reassembling.
You have three options for repair of the caliper
1) helicoil the thread in the arm (it is either M5 or M6 threaded, I forget which)
2) fit a headed bolt that goes through the arm, and use a nut (eg one from a V-brake block?) to secure the cable
3) replace the arm.
The arm is available (in theory) eg
http://www.trpbrakes.com/category.php?productid=1280&catid=209&subcat=0 in the USA.
NB If you move the pushrod and/or remove the arm, you will have to be absolutely sure that you know how to adjust the pushrod later on, in order that the brakes work properly and set up by using the stop pin in the usual way.
If you are worried about stripping further threads, best entrust the repair work to someone that is well-versed.
cheers

Yes! Thanks for your quick replies, Will and yostumpy. I'll find a nut and washer and try that. Otherwise I'll come back with photographs.

Thank you, Brucey. I think I'm going to go with option 2 to start with.
