So the Update!

Have fitted some Rubino pro control tyres in the 700c x28 size.

Been out on 2 rides with them fitted now, once in the damp and once in the dry.

So, at £26 each, i was hoping for some decent tyres that felt better than the crappy randonneur tyres I was rocking. Must say I’ve definitely got my wish, they feel like completely different tyres.
The randonneur ones that came off were incredibly hard and rigid throughout, even with no air and off the rims they stay round and feel rather heavy and despite only having a max of 60psi in them felt rock solid.
The Rubino pro tyres are folding so instantly feel lighter and less rigid even fitted and inflated to 85psi. Max is 100psi but no need for that. They roll effortlessly in comparison and soak the bumps up nicely. In the wet, they give a real feel of grip and confidence to push on round corners. So yeah, I’m happy for the price of them and will probably stick with these for winter tyres now, so thanks to all the contributors in this thread and the advice.
