This video on repairing tubeless tyres certainly gives the appearance that sealant can work well with quite large puncture holes.

Is there a cheap source of syringes to inject the sealant into the valve?

That's a good video. Obviously where I have been going wrong with superglue on tyres is not using the flexible stuff

Not sure about those worms though?

I hadn't realised that superglue came in flexible versions until looking at repairing tubless tyres, I'll be trying it for nicks in normal tyre in future. I've no experience with tubeless as yet so can't comment on the worms apart from they appear to be the standard method for dealing with a larger hole without resorting to an internal patch.
